The Destination Australia program is the Australian Government’s new scholarship program to provide financial support for more tertiary education students to study in regional Australia. Destination Australia supports the implementation of the Australian Government’s National Strategy for International Education 2025.
Over 1000 scholarships of $15,000 per student, per year will be offered to support the study and living expenses associated with studying one of the following qualification levels at a regional campus of an eligible tertiary education provider: Certificate IV, Accredited Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Bachelors Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma, Masters or Doctoral degrees.
Tertiary education providers will apply for scholarships for students through a competitive grants process. Applications for Destination Australia will open later in 2019, with scholarships to start from Semester 1, 2020.
There will be no further rounds of the Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP), as funding allocated to the Endeavour Leadership Program will be used to support the new Destination Australia Program. Recipients of previous rounds of the ELP will continue to be supported.
