Ambassador Welcomes Australian Coffee Franchise to Hanoi

HANOI - The Australian Ambassador, Mr Bill Tweddell, today warmly welcomed the opening of the first Gloria Jean’s Coffee Shop in Hanoi.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Tweddell noted Vietnam’s growing reputation as a nation of coffee lovers, and said that Gloria Jean’s Coffee is one of the world’s best known and successful brands.

“For myself, I am particularly pleased because I have grown to enjoy Vietnamese-style coffee, and now I can enjoy the very best that both countries have to offer right here in Hanoi”, he added.

At the same ceremony, the managing director of Viet Lifestyle, Ms Nguyen Phi Van, said “In Vietnam, Gloria Jean’s Coffees is the only global lifestyle brand in the premium specialty coffee sector, targeting to tourists, expatriates working in Vietnam and Vietnamese yuppies, who require high quality in products and services”.

According to Australia’s Senior Trade Commissioner to Vietnam, Patrick Stringer, Gloria Jean’s Coffees is one of the leading coffee franchise brands in the world. “Today there are more than 1000 Gloria Jean’s Coffees outlets throughout the world and Vietnam has become the 25th country to welcome Gloria Jean’s Coffee”.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees has won a number of prestigious international business awards including “Franchisor of the year 2005” in Australia and most recently “2006 Franchisor of the year” by the Franchising and Licensing Association of Singapore.
