Hanoi, 17 Jul 2026 – Today, the Australian Embassy in Viet Nam and the Commission for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) proudly launched V-Standard platform, an innovative project under the Australian government funded Aus4Innovation program. Jointly implemented by Griffith University (Australia) and STAMEQ, the initiative is transforming how agricultural certification and traceability are managed in Viet Nam.
Commenced in 2024, the project addressed long-standing challenges in the agricultural sector, such as time-consuming certification processes, limited traceability, and barriers to meeting international standards. The V-Standard platform empowers farmers to digitally manage their farming practices, upload evidence, and receive clear guidance on certification readiness. Cooperatives and certification bodies benefit from streamlined management, reduced administrative burdens, and faster audit processes.
Over the first four months of implementation, the project has delivered significant results. More than 127 cropping seasons and 147 agricultural products have been digitally managed through V-Standard. A total of 230 accounts have been registered, strengthening connections between farmers, cooperatives, buyers, and certification bodies. Training activities reached 450 participant-turns, including 37% women and 180 individuals from ethnic minority groups, enhancing digital literacy and certification readiness. Nineteen cooperatives have participated in certification-related activities, successfully submitting 1015 certification supporting documents and 620 monitoring records through the platform. Audit and certification time is now cut by an estimated 40%, improving efficiency for both producers and certification bodies. Businesses gain improved supply chain transparency, while consumers can access product traceability through the National Traceability Portal.
These achievements not only modernise Viet Nam’s agricultural processes but also enhance the sector’s competitiveness in the global economy.

Moving on, V-Standard platform will be operated by Viet Nam’s National Barcode Center (NBC) through cooperative subscription model. This model guarantees equitable access for farmers, ensuring that the benefits of this transformative technology continue to enhance Viet Nam's agricultural sector for years to come.
This project is sponsored by the Innovation Partnership Grants, a key component of the Aus4Innovation program, a ten-year initiative (2018–2028) aimed at strengthening Viet Nam’s innovation ecosystem for inclusive and sustainable development. Across five rounds, the grant has provided AUD $8.4 million in funding, empowering Vietnamese and Australian institutions to address critical issues in agriculture, climate change, healthcare, and more.
The program is funded by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), co-funded and managed by CSIRO – Australia’s national science agency and delivered in a strategic partnership with Viet Nam’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
