The Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and the Australian Department of Home Affairs will gift cutting edge explosive trace detection equipment and threat detection training software to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam this week.
The equipment will enhance and complement existing security measures for international flights departing from major Vietnamese airports, as a key component of a layered security approach that safeguards passengers and aviation infrastructure from threats.
“Aviation transport maintains the strong ties between Australia and Vietnam and keeps us connected with the rest of the globe. Its vital place in our way of life means it is essential to keep passengers and aircraft safe.” Ambassador Goledzinowski said.
The gifting of the equipment reflects Australia and Vietnam’s deep commitment to working collaboratively to strengthen regional transport security.
“Australia is proud of its longstanding partnership with Vietnam on transport security. High quality explosive threat detection capability is an essential step in ensuring safe and secure aviation travel and trade” Ambassador Goledzinowski said.
