As part of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam diplomatic relations, the Australian Government in Vietnam will hold multiple screenings of ABC Kids’ Bluey, Australia’s most popular children’s television show, in the cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Danang and Can Tho in June and July.
Bluey is an animated series about a family of Aussie blue heelers dogs, produced by Brisbane-based Ludo Studio for ABC Kids and is co-commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios. The animation is widely recognised for its humour and subtle way of addressing topics such as family dynamics and growing up.
Bluey won an international Emmy Kids Award celebrating the world’s best content for young viewers in 2020. The series has now been shown around the world across Disney channels and platforms in the United States, United Kingdom, China, New Zealand, South Africa and Kenya.
In Vietnam, the three episodes, “Magic Xylophone”, “Grannies” and “The Beach” which are 21 minutes in total, will be screened at IDECAF and CGV cinemas. Information on the screening timeslots, venues and registration links can be viewed on the Australian Embassy Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/251839956988317/posts/653058920199750
The Ho Chi Minh launch will be at IDECAF on 23 June and the Hanoi launch will be at CGV Metropolis on 26 June.
