Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in collaboration with Hanoi Innovation and Startup Association and Ho Chi Minh city Department of Education and Training to organize the “Australia-Vietnam Edtech Roundtable 2023”. The event offered a platform for Australian and Vietnamese edtech businesses and educational institutions to discuss partnerships of digital transformation in the education sector.
The two Roundtables, held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city on 18 and 19 April, showcased Australian capabilities in edtech and online education.They offered platform for Australian and Vietnamese edtech businesses and education institutions to seek collaboration opportunities.
Australia’s experience and expertise in education digitisation was actively discussed as well as Vietnam’s needs for development and its infrastructure readiness to achieve the goals of digital transformation in education sector of 2025 with vision to 2030.
With approximately 1,900 online education (of which almost 700 edtech) organisations, Australian edtech businesses are setting benchmark for edtech sector around the world, underpinned by its world-class education system from K-12 to tertiary education, strong governance framework, rigorous innovation and research capabilities.
The Roundtables are organised following the Launch of Australia-Vietnam Edtech Alliance on 18 April in Hanoi of the occasion of Australian high-level bilateral trade visit to Vietnam. This is a network of 20 active Australian and Vietnamese edtech partners as founding members committed to exchange professional knowledge, share market insights and build partnerships.
In celebrating 50th anniversary of bilateral relationships of Australia and Vietnam, the “Australia-Vietnam Edtech Roundtable 2023” is expected to tighten the existing partnerships, open new collaboration opportunities in edtech and online education between the two countries.

The Australia-Vietnam Edtech Alliance is a non-for-profit network established by active Vietnamese and Australian edtech and online education stakeholders with the support of Austrade. It aims to serve as a sustainable platform for Australian and Vietnamese online education and technology businesses to develop partnerships and contribute to the digital transformation agenda of Vietnam.
