Premium Victorian wines showcased in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

A delegation of winemakers from 11 wineries in Victoria, Australia, is travelling to Vietnam to showcase their premium wines. The delegation will conduct wine tasting events in Hanoi on 13 June and Ho Chi Minh City on 14 June.

The delegation, led by the Victorian Government, is visiting Vietnam as part of a larger mission to South East Asia. This “Super Trade Mission” involves over 450 representatives from some 300 companies visiting several countries across the region. This collection of Victorian companies is the biggest trade delegation ever to leave Australia for the region.

As Vietnam and Australia celebrate their 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Victoria is in a good position to deliver premium wine to Vietnam given the 800-plus wineries spread across the state. Victoria produces wines in every conceivable style. No other state in Australia can boast a collection of wine this colourful or compelling.

The cutting edge of Australia’s finest wine, the best of the best, is alive in Victoria’s vineyards and wineries. The most contemporary cool-climate styles, from Riesling to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir to Shiraz, Cabernet and beyond all stand tall on the world wine stage among the icons of Europe, our neighbour New Zealand and the USA. They’re proudly Australian, they are wines that speak of their origins, their people and, above all, their place - Victoria.

A long-established history of grape vine cultivation, winemaking and export success underpins the contemporary band of Victorian wine producers. Some regions are long established, some recently recognised and some have been dramatically transformed.

The carefully considered pairing of the right varieties with the right regions underscores the evolution of precisely refined wine styles, informed by worldly experience and internationally seasoned palates.

The character of the state’s capital, Melbourne, and its melting pot of cuisines and cultures is the perfect stage for the enjoyment of Victoria’s wines.

The wineries represented at the Victorian Wine Showcases are:

  • Goona Warra Vineyard
  • Harcourt Valley Vineyards
  • Pyren Vineyard
  • Outlook Hill
  • Rob Dolan Wines
  • Sandhurst Ridge Winery
  • Sally's Paddock
  • Stumpy Gully Vineyard
  • Olsen Wines
  • Australasian Wine Exporters
  • The Hairy Arm Wine Company

The wine industry is clearly one of Victoria's true success stories and the Victorian Government is firm in its commitment of supporting its growth.
