Australian companies to showcase mining technology solutions in Vietnam
A business delegation of 19 Australian mining service companies, representing Australia Mining Excellence, will visit Vietnam from 6 to 9 March to participate in the Mining Vietnam 2012 Exhibition and Conference and seek opportunities with local partners.
The delegation, which makes up the largest pavilion at the Mining Vietnam 2012 exhibition and conference at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center, features Australia’s leading mining service companies across the board, including mine construction and engineering, water management, communication, safety and software, mine supplies and maintenance services.
Apart from showcasing their advanced products and services at the Mining Vietnam 2012 exhibition and conference, which is the first mining international event in Vietnam, delegation members will take part in an Australian mining workshop held by the Australia Trade Commission (Austrade) on 7 March at the exhibition to present their technology solutions and discuss technical issues and challenges in the extractive industry with local and international participants.
“The large number of Australian mining service firms showcasing their state-of-the-art technology solutions at this leading international mining exhibition demonstrates Australia’s exceptional capabilities in this field and the strong interest of Australian companies in Vietnam,” said the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, His Excellency, Mr Allaster Cox. The Ambassador commented that several Australian firms had demonstrated their commitment to establishing a sustained presence in Vietnam, through their ongoing engagement in the market.
Regarded as a world leader for mining and mineral processing, Australia has developed and perfected the technologies that are needed for mining operations in some of the most remote and harsh conditions in the world. These technologies and services are designed to ensure mines remain productive, have high environmental standards and contribute to sustainable economic development.
Bringing Australian mining missions to Vietnam has been an annual activity conducted by Austrade in co-operation with Vietnam National Coal and Minerals Industries Group (Vinacomin) since 2009 with the aim of creating an exchange of information and business opportunities between the extractive industries of the two countries.
