The Australian Development Scholarships (including the Australian Leadership Awards Scholarships) program is seeking more applicants from rural areas and ethnic minority groups.
Last year over 250 Vietnamese from 45 provinces received full scholarships covering study, living and travel expenses for postgraduate study in Australia, including 24 ethnic minorities.
Upcoming Information Sessions
Information sessions are planned for the North-West, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions from 8 April to 6 May 2011. Provinces to be visited include An Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Dak Lac, Dak Nong, Dien Bien, Gia Lai, Kien Giang, Kon Tum, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Soc Trang, Son La and Tra Vinh.
In addition, Australian university representatives will provide information on courses that can be studied under the scholarship on 13 April in Hanoi and on 15 April in Ho Chi Minh City (open to all potential applicants).
Scholarship Conditions
All scholarships applicants must be working on development issues, whether through government, non-government or private sectors. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive support including up to 10-months full-time English training if required.
Special priority, and extra English language support, will be provided to applicants working on development issues or in local government from designated poor areas (from a list of districts within 45 provinces) and ethnic minority applicants.
