Louise Adams - Aurecon

Louise Adams

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aurecon Group and Australian Business Champion.

"Within our organisation's network and offices across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, the office in Vietnam is a centre of excellence for digital technology and digital transformation support."

Aurecon established its Vietnam office in 1991 and has become the largest international construction engineering consulting company in the country. Currently, Aurecon's headquarters in Vietnam employs approximately 370 staff members.

Aurecon has been involved in design consulting and construction of infrastructure in Vietnam on various notable projects including: Vincom Landmark 81 building, ID Junction Long Thanh (Ho Chi Minh City), Hanoi International Airport Terminal 2 passenger terminal (Hanoi), Nhon Trach 2 renewable energy plant (Dong Nai), Dau Tieng 1 and Dau Tieng 2 solar power plants (Tay Ninh), and many more. Louise highly appreciates Vietnam's emerging engineering talent, stating that their skills and methods not only benefit local businesses, but also contribute to Aurecon's operations in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Louise comments, “I believe this comes from the education system in Vietnam. Our team in Vietnam is relatively young and enthusiastic, with a strong foundation in digital innovation and a mindset of trying different approaches.”

When asked about concerns regarding the environmental impact of rapid development and construction works in Vietnam, Louise expresses a clear commitment: "We have a blueprint strategy, looking towards the future, ensuring that we have the appropriate skills from a sustainable design perspective, thereby delivering overall sustainable solutions.”

Another social benefit that Aurecon brings at a global level through the positive leadership of female engineer Louise Adams, is the very active promotion and recognition of women working in the engineering industry. "At Aurecon we are always looking for ways to celebrate women in our industry and recognise them as role models so that young women who are studying in universities or aspiring to engineering can learn and say, 'that's someone I can be inspired by or follow'”, she said.

With Vietnam's aspirations to achieve sustainable goals, and Aurecon's capacity as a representative of Australia in enhancing infrastructure with a focus on sustainable solutions, Louise believes in new directions, empowered by the commitment “to create growth opportunities for all”.
