  1. 2016 State Referendum arrangements - Queenslanders who will be or are overseas on polling day for the State Referendum can cast a pre-poll in person vote from Monday 7 March to Friday 18 March 2016 at the Australian High Commission in Papua New Guinea, Australian High Commission in Singapore; and Trade and Investment Queensland offices in London, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Addresses and opening hours are available on the Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) website (

  2. 2016 Local Government Election arrangements - Queenslanders cannot cast a vote in person while overseas for the 2016 local government elections. They will be required to lodge a postal vote application with the ECQ to receive ballot papers and return them directly to the ECQ. All applications for postal voting must be received by the ECQ by 7pm on Wednesday 16 March 2016. Completed ballot material must then be received by the Returning Officer by close of business on the 10th day after polling day (Tuesday 29th March).
