Jetstar Pacific: Vietnam’s leading website in 2008
Hanoi – The Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr Allaster Cox, has welcomed news that the website of Jetstar Pacific, Jetstar.com, has been named Vietnam’s most popular e-commerce website for 2008.
“I am delighted that Australian investments in Vietnam, such as Qantas in Jetstar Pacific, continue to bring new innovations and technology to Vietnam” said Mr Cox. “Vietnamese consumers are now able to enjoy the convenience of online booking and quality service that Qantas and Jetstar customers across the globe have long come to expect.”
Jetstar Pacific was the first airline to offer Vietnamese passengers the opportunity to browse and purchase domestic airfares online. Customers can also book airfares to international destinations serviced by the wider Jetstar Australia and Jetstar Asia networks through its website. Jetstar Airways recently won the 2008 CAPA award for excellence as the Asia Pacific’s Best Low Cost Airline. This is the third time the airline has won this prestigious award.
In April 2007, Qantas purchased an 18 per cent stake in Vietnam’s second largest carrier, Pacific Airlines. In May 2008, the Jetstar.com website was launched to coincide with the airline’s transition to Jetstar Pacific.
